How an orangery extension can transform your kitchen

How to decorate your garden room or orangery for christmas

Although it feels like only 5 minutes ago we were putting the christmas decorations away, the festive season is just around the corner, and to help you figure out how you're going to deck your garden room or orangery, we've listed some seasonal styling and decoration ideas to get your garden room or orangery looking magical in time for Christmas.

Use fairy lights and candles

Lighting is arguably the most important factor when it comes to creating a cosy Christmas atmosphere. Get creative with different lights and colours to create your desired ambience and use as many or as little as you wish. Candles are also the perfect cosy lighting solution and can also enhance the festive atmosphere through nostalgic scents that will help you embrace the joy of the festive season and keep your house or garden room smelling amazing.

Keep it cosy and bring the outside in

With the dark nights and frosty mornings, getting outside can feel like a bit more of a challenge. Try incorporating real greenery such as wreaths of holly, ivy and pine cones into your christmas decor to bring the cosiness of the outside in and carry through the natural outdoor winter wonderland into your living spaces.

Hanging ceiling and window decorations

One of the best things about bright and airy spaces such as orangery extensions are the large windows that can be used to transform your room into a magical christmas wonderland. Hanging ceiling decorations are a perfect option for orangeries as you can make use of a taller roof. With the right lighting, you'll see the reflected decorations which will create the illusion of having more decorations than you actually have - a great cost saving tip!

The Orange-Tree

It would be wrong to write a blog about decorating your home for Christmas without mentioning the famous festive tree. Christmas trees often take pride of place in our homes, and you will often find that they will be put in the same place year after year. However, if you have a garden room or orangery, the lights and decorations on a tree will reflect across the windows and transform your space into a cosy festive space.

Set up the Table in style

For many of us, gathering around the table with loved ones is the highlight of Christmas day. If you find yourself cramped around a table, temporarily moving the table into a space with more room such an orangery extended kitchen or an external garden room can be a great way to create a special and practical location for your christmas lunch. Items such as candles, crackers and festive table runners are a great place to start when getting your table Christmas ready. You can go as extravagant or as subtle as you desire to make sure you have the perfect place to enjoy your festive meal times.
